Personally, I think it is best to describe people in simple terms, ie black, white, mixed race, asian, oriental, etc. People of colour sounds a bit condescending in my opinion.
As a society, we are obsessed with labelling people and pointing out differences. Is someone from Nigeria culturally the same as someone from Jamaica? Colour is just one part that makes up a person and we all have differences and things in common.
We are all on here talking about “them” when there are other black or mixed race members on this board. Are they not part of our group then? It all sounds rather sad and is worse than some stupid twitter joke.
